The Clubs Child Protection Policy

Daventry Rugby Football Club is committed to providing a safe environment for our players, coaches and parents.  To ensure this we follow guidelines set out by the Rugby Football Union for the protection and involvement of children under 18 in our teams.

Our Child Welfare Coordinators have attended relevant courses and their contact details are listed on the coaches and team pages.  If parents have any child protection issues or concerns they are advised to take them directly to one of the Team Child Welfare Coordinators or the Clubs Welfare Officer rather than your child’s coach.

A copy of the RFU/RFWU ‘Policy and Procedures for the Welfare of Young People in Rugby Union’ is available in the Child Welfare file behind the bar.

If you have any queries or questions about the Clubs Welfare policies and Procedures please contact clubwelfare@drfc-juniors.co.uk The RFU/RFWU guidelines on child protection can be found on the RFU web site

The Clubs policy with regard video or photo images.

Daventry RFC recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all young people in rugby union. As part of our commitment to ensure the safety of young people, we will not permit photographs, video or other images of young people to be taken without the consent of their parent or guardian and that of the young person.

We will follow the RFU/RFWU guidance for the use of images of young people as detailed in Appendix 8 of RFU/RFWU ‘Policy and Procedures for the Welfare of Young People in Rugby Union’.

We will take steps to ensure these images are used for the purpose they are intended, which is the promotion and celebration of the activities of the club.

If you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately you should inform the Club Welfare Officer.

If at any time the parent or guardian of the young person wishes the data to be removed from the website, the team Welfare Coordinator should be informed.
