Clubs Child Protection Policy Daventry
Rugby Football Club is committed to providing a safe environment for our
players, coaches and parents. To
ensure this we follow guidelines set out by the Rugby Football Union for the
protection and involvement of children under 18 in our teams.

copy of the RFU/RFWU ‘Policy and Procedures for the Welfare of Young People in

RFC recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all young people in
rugby union. As part of our commitment to ensure the safety of young people, we
will not permit photographs, video or other images of young people to be taken
without the consent of their parent or guardian and that of the young person. We
will follow the RFU/RFWU guidance for the use of images of young people as
detailed in Appendix 8 of RFU/RFWU ‘Policy and Procedures for the Welfare of
Young People in Rugby Union’. We
will take steps to ensure these images are used for the purpose they are
intended, which is the promotion and celebration of the activities of the club. If
you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately you should
inform the Club Welfare Officer. If
at any time the parent or guardian of the young person wishes the data to be
removed from the website, the team Welfare Coordinator should be informed. Daventry
RFC adheres to the RFU/RFWU anti bullying policy. Daventry
Rugby Football Club believes the club should be committed to providing a work
and sport environment free from bullying and harassment, and one in which
bullying and harassment is not tolerated in any of its forms. Any harassment of
a member of the club, by another player, member or official is not acceptable
and should be dealt with in accordance with the RFU/RFWU ‘Policy and
Procedures for the Welfare of Young People in Rugby Union’ Appendix 5. The
Club encourages the reporting of all incidents, of harassment, to the Club
Welfare Officer. Daventry
Rugby Football club is committed to ensuring that equity is
incorporated across all aspects of its development. In
doing so it acknowledges and adopts the following Sport England definition of
sports equity. Sports
equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognizing inequalities
and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure
of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society. The
club respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat
everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability,
gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social economic status. The
club is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an
environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse. All
club members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and
promote equality of opportunity. The
club will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously,
according to the Club’s disciplinary procedures.
